Trial and error

Cooking competition is approaching .

A week of trial and error for an entry in this competition has make everyone busy.An inexpensive and very nutritious dessert should be created . One has to be unique and eye catching in order to entertain not only the judges but also everyone who will be their to taste the dish.

Aratiles or the Jamaican cherry near the D.C.C. has attracted us. The idea of making this ordinary fruit into an appetizing dessert.Has captured our mind and gave us an inspiration. We cook this fruit and mix it with jelly . The result was good but we find this dish very common . Then one of our co-officers try to caramelize the cherry .The result was fantastic but we want more vitamins and health benefits added on it .That is when we start adding some vegetables on it. Watermelon rind, malunggay, swamp cabbage and chayote are added in this caramelize cherry . And so we end up with this creation "The Sweet Prugay" derive from the tagalog word prutas means fruits and gulay means vegetables.
